Frankie, French Bulldog
“So, we were a family of 3 dogs, 2 terriers, and a chihuahua, then we inherited a 4th a frenchie! 6 years old.
Our 3 did know him as he was a family members dog, he had stayed with us for short periods of time and where he was he got little stimulation, walking etc.
So he reverted to almost to being a puppy. Walks every day, proper diet and much attention.
We noticed signs of excitement and aggression. WELCOME CHARLOTTE 🙏
Charlotte came after viewing our videos as well as a long conversation. Her advice and guidance was put into action the next day, and within 1 month things were almost sorted. NOW, 6 weeks on the excitement and aggression have virtually disappeared.
All 4 boys sleeping together, playing and living the dream
A MASSIVE THANKS TO CHARLOTTE,
Never hessitate to address your dogs changes and needs, it makes their world and yours a better place.”
Chester, Miniature Dachshund
“100% Recommend Charlotte. I have a mini daschund who I believe suffers from fear aniexty which is shown through serious agression, he is also super territorial in the home. We could not let visitors anywhere near him and going for walks were super stressful. Charlotte’s help, wisdom, support and advice has been invaluable. 4 week in and my dog has completely changed course. Walks can now finally be really enjoyable and he is a million times better with visitors to the house, but importantly I am so confident we will get there completely by continuing to put the work in and following Charlotte’s advice. Look forward to seeing Charlotte for the next follow up in a few months. Cannot recommend enough!”
Lorenzo, Afghan Hound
“Well what can i say Charlotte you have transformed our afghan hounds behaviour in just one visit he lives in our multi dog home and he was being very reactive towards visitors and sadly my husband . As an experienced dog owner i was at a loss to know what to do with him. It was breaking my heart to see what i knew was a beautiful loving dog be so uptight and anxious. The situation with my husband and Lorenzo was getting close to breaking point. Charlotte came along with a calm yet confident manner and took us back to basics. After taking a full history of Lorenzo’s life experiences she was able to make sense of what was going on in his mixed up head. We had to do our bit and change how we were interacting with Lorenzo the change was amazing and pretty quick . Today was our review visit and Charlotte reinforced the importance of continuity and setting boundaries for Lorenzo. She was so pleased with his progress and happy to see a more relaxed and confident boy and hubby ! .
Thank you so very much for your help and knowledge Charlotte”
Willow, Labrador
“After trying 2 dog trainers we were recommended Charlotte, now for the first time we’re starting to see progress with our dog Willow. It’s clear how the training and plan going forward will work, the first time I’ve felt optimistic!”
Jax, Dachshund
“Charlotte has been amazing with jax. He was a rescue dog that we got at the end of December. I contacted lead the way as I felt with some help and guidance we could help him.
Charlottes advice and tips has been invaluable. It’s like we have a new Jax!!! Can’t wait for our catch up in a couple of weeks!”
Diesel, Standard Dachshund
“Charlotte made us feel so welcome and comfortable at her puppy socialisation class tonight! Taking the time to allow our puppy to socialise with others yet very attentive when it came to training him one-on-one! Would highly recommend her to anyone whose puppy would like to gain valuable social skills!”
Poppy, Cockerpoo
“Can not recommend Charlotte enough😊Poppy our 2 year old Cockapoo has had trouble with Seperation Anxiety since moving out of the family home where there was always someone home and another dog keeping her company. Now Poppy is on her own whilst we were at work, this was leading to her barking and having accidents in her cage. Charlotte came to visit us and supported me on how we could help Poppy with her Anxiety together. Only 4 weeks into training and we have noticed a huge difference in Poppy. No barking, no accidents, willing to get in cage herself (never would do this before). Still ongoing training but such a massive difference already within 4 weeks! Could not recommend enough, Charlotte has helped in ways I never thought Poppy would overcome this!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
Pluto, Cocker Spaniel
“Cannot recommend Charlotte enough!! We had a cocker spaniel who I can only describe as grumpy 🤣 trying to attack our new puppy and we just didn’t know what to do. With her help he’s now a different dog and happily plays with our new dog.
Wouldn’t of managed without her!
Thankyou again xx”
Betsy, Rottweiler X German Shepherd
“Charlotte has been absolutely brilliant with my dog, finding the root of Betsy’s problems and putting in place positive techniques. Betsy has improved so much with her anxiety and gained so much confidence. I would always recommend Charlotte to anyone who needs a behaviourist for their pet.”
Stevie, English Bulldog
“Charlotte has been wonderful. Our English Bulldog is having some behavioural issues which he gets too excited and can be quite nibby. Charlotte was able to quickly assess what was needed to “fix” it. The training is ongoing and it will take a while for him to be a good dog again 🤣 but we now know how to deal with it thanks to Charlotte. No more panic when people visit. Highly recommended!”
Bruno, Miniature Dachshund
“Charlotte was great, we went from a reactive, anxious dog that we couldn’t take anywhere due to being reactive of dogs/children/people to a dog we can confidently take into pubs, cafes and anywhere really! She is super down to earth and we never felt embarrassed by having such a terror of a dog. Would recommend her to anyone.”
Angus, Labrador
“Charlotte is a fantastic dog trainer she cares about her job and the love she puts into helping dog owners is amazing. Not only has she helped with the training of our black lab Angus with his reactiveness and pulling she has given me the confidence to be able to put the training into practice. She puts your mind at ease from the first time you meet her. Both Angus and Madge love her and her magic pockets of cheese 🧀 Thank you so much Lisa”
Penny, Cockerpoo
“Charlotte was very professional and great at her job. We was having problems with our dog allowing visitors into the house and being aggressive towards them. We had already had advice from a previous behaviorist which wasn’t working as Charlotte found out on her first visit. Charlotte came in and within 2 sessions had sorted the problem. We had a clear plan for the dog and even trained us as we needed it 🙂”
Dave, Dogue de Bordeaux
“I honestly could not thank and recommend Charlotte enough!!
When I first brought Dave home the meeting with Bella (Akita) did not go well at all, it ended up that I’d put temporary fencing in the garden to separate the dogs as I’d convinced myself it was aggressive behaviour from Bella (Akita) and needed to protect the puppy.
Charlotte came and not only did she work with the dogs she worked with us and explained dog’s behaviour that Bella was actually correcting Dave for bad behaviour as any dog would with a puppy and that it was not aggressive behaviour at all
She assured me to take the temporary fencing down and let the dogs be together which we did and yes she was correct, Bella does bark and growl at dave sometimes but she is only correcting him at no point has she ‘attacked’ Dave like I’d thought in my mind!! She also showed me ways to teach Dave good manners (as he is a puppy) myself at home to help his interactions with Bella.
She even came back for a follow up to ensure everyone was ok and to help reinforce any traits that may have reappeared. Not only has she made my life easier the dogs are so much happier living together. If you feel that you need help in any way with your fur babies please contact Charlotte you will NOT be disappointed!! Not only is she a fully qualified behaviourist I promise you she really does know how to help and bring some ‘normal’ back into your life.
Thank you Charlotte you honestly don’t know how you’ve changed our lives”
Frank, Great Dane
“As experienced Great Dane owners we are all too well aware of the issues that can develop in controlling such a large animal. For our newest Great Dane Puppy- Frank- we enlisted the help of Charlotte. At the start of each session Charlotte kicks things off with a big hello and cuddles for Frank – building trust- she has worked wonders in such a short period of time- from tips to help socialise him, lead work, commands and tips on avoiding anxiety. What’s great about Charlotte is that she works hard with you as owners to give you confidence and encouragement- she also listens to your concerns and then weaves in activities to support – I mentioned Frank had mastered getting up the stairs but was too frightened to get down – by the end of the session he had the descent mastered safely. If you are looking for help with your pet give her a call – you will be glad that you did !”
Ozzy, Cocker Spaniel
“Such a positive experience with Charlotte and I love that she’s never been judgemental our our situation. She has helped us loads not only with our issues we were having but with my confidence too. We have a plan in place from our first session and constantly developing and improving on this. She is always contactable via message in between sessions and has never made me feel like I’m bothering her when I need further advice or reassurance. Such a lovely easy going girl who is easy to talk to and makes you feel really at ease. Her love for dogs is so clear in all our conversations and we’re constantly sharing stories and pictures of our dogs being silly.”
Olaf & Milo, Husky & Cockerpoo
“Charlotte is a star. We were having so many doubts and worries about our two pups and their interaction with each other. She totally put our minds at ease. Charlotte is personable, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. She offered us so much advice, so many reassurances, and so many good tips and ideas. Her rapport with the dogs was amazing. We would highly recommend her to anyone considering having a behaviourist.”
Dave, Miniature Dachshund
“We can’t recommend Charlotte enough. She came and did some training with our Miniature Dachshund due to excessive barking. Within 15 minutes this had stopped and with the plan she provided this has helped us a long way in stopping this behaviour.
Charlotte is always there when needed and will always give the best service possible. 100% recommend!”
Eric, Labrador
“100% recommend Charlotte, she has helped no end with a lab puppy Eric. He was our first ever dog and we had a fair few issues mainly nipping when excited, dragged us on the lead and major separation anxiety. She has helped us through all of our issue with no judgment at all while doing it. He now doesn’t nip doesn’t drag us and can be left a few hours at a time this is all down to her experience and knowledge. We have recently used her again for recall and the improvements in eric over three weeks have been insane! If you need a dog trainer she’s the one 🖤”
Percy, Chihuahua
“Charlotte has literally changed mine and my dogs lives for the better!. My dog who was suffering with anxiety and confidence issues after his tough start in life is now the absolute best version of himself.. He’s happy, confident and no longer anxious and our lives are both so joyful and fulfilling now!. I can finally take him on a holiday, rides in the car and in to new environments and it’s amazing!. His brother has lost his defensiveness too as he is no longer trying to compensate for his anxieties.
Charlotte is so knowledgeable and lovely natured and she knew exactly what to do to help my pups, her advise was so easy to follow and I started seeing results straight away. She was always available between visits for any questions and advise and has been supportive throughout.
I have recommended her to all my dog owner friends and will continue to do so.
I can’t thank her enough for improving our qualities of life the way she has.”
Faye, Whippet
“We cannot recommend Charlotte high enough, she is a wealth of knowledge so understanding and sets up training for your dog to succeed. She is always there to help with any problems you may encounter and also gives the owner’s the confidence to help their pets. Our Whippet Faye adores her which is praise in itself, she is a lovely lady so go on pick up the phone and you won’t be disappointed. Thanks again Charlotte.”
Sash, Rottweiler
“We contacted Charlotte for some help with our rotties guarding issue. What an amazing job she has done!! In only one session she told us exactly what to expect and how to correct the behaviour. At our follow up we got a gold start! Charlotte is very knowledgable and gave us brilliant advice where other trainers had failed. Plus she came with stinky treats which our rottie approved of lol.
Would highly recommend Charlotte if you are having an issue and we hope to keep up the good work and we know that if we have any questions Charlotte is more than happy to help.”
Stanley, Dachshund
“Charlotte at lead the way has worked miracles for our stubborn, anxious dachshund. After many people telling us it was just the breed, Charlotte assured us that with some work, he could change. He is now much calmer and quieter around the house, eating properly and better behaved when family and friends visit. Most incredibly, Charlotte has helped us to train Stanley to walk well on the lead with no pulling, barking or lunging at bikes, cars and people. Everyone that knows Stanley has said he is like a different dog. We couldn’t recommend Charlotte more, especially if you have a stubborn dachshund like ours!”
Bert, Bassett Hound
“I would like to say a huge thank you to Charlotte.
We asked for her help with our 9yr old Basset Bert who had always had an issue with people but had lately got worse, even with our other dog Chops.
So professional throughout the whole process, we have totally come out the other side and can have our guests round without the fear of constant barking or potential biting.
Charlotte worked though the issues we were having, gave us a detailed plan of action and it’s all been incredible. It’s really worked and our lives are so much more comfortable! Bert can now be a joy to other people not just us.
Thank you again.”
Buddy, Sprocker Spaniel
“Having only ever had adult dogs in the past, getting a puppy was a bit of a shock, especially one as energetic as our Sprocker. But Charlotte at Lead the Way has been fantastic – her calm nature and obvious experience with the breed have given us the confidence and basic understanding of how to best handle his needs. We also have young children who struggled initially with the bouncy nature and puppy nibbling, and Charlotte has helped them bond with Buddy and create long lasting friendships. If you’ve got a puppy and want the best start then we would definitely recommend Lead the Way.”
Hamish, Bichon Frisé
“Hamish has a lovely sweet nature but was becoming very hard work. We love going for walks but he pulled so much his walks got shorter and shorter. Hamish would get very anxious and always appeared to be on high alert. He didn’t mind me going out to work but if I left the room without him he would cry and bark even though he wasn’t on his own. He likes sitting on my knee but he had to have his face pressed on my face most of the time. He would happily get in the car but would cry and howl constantly.
Hamish isn’t our first dog and it didn’t matter what we tried his behaviour seemed to be taking over and we needed help.
Charlotte gave us lots of ideas and techniques to use in the house and when we go out.
Hamish (and us) have made amazing progress over just a short amount of time. We now go out for a steady walk several times a day. Everyday we see improvements. We’re no longer being dragged everywhere and Hamish is more confident, calm and happy. We have even been out in the car a few times and not a peep out of Hamish.
We cannot thank Charlotte enough and highly recommend her if you are struggling with your fur baby.”
Victor, Rottweiler
“I cannot recommend Charlotte enough, especially if you have an unsocialised adult male Rottweiler like mine. I didn’t think we’d ever be able to control him on the lead properly without him pulling, or stop him from lunging at cars. Yet with Charlottes positive no-nonsense approach we had him walking calmly and on a loose lead in a matter of weeks. Totally blown away by my dogs progress using the advice and tips from Charlotte. I am forever grateful to her for making walks with my dog a pleasure.”
Reggie & Lola, Chihuahua’s
“I would honestly recommend Charlotte to anyone! She has really helped transform my chihuahuas from anxious and protective to totally relaxed dogs. I had my first session in November, and had the follow up session today and I see a noticeable difference with both Reggie and Lola! Charlotte is so kind and lovely, and is really helpful with any questions asked. Her aftercare is fantastic. Thank you 🐶🤍”
Frankie, Pug
“Totally amazed by Lead The Way Charlotte was truly amazing with our Frankie he was very badly treated by previous owners and it took me a year to build him up to get him to walk he had many other issues also Charlotte came and within days of her coming he began to change he is now no happy and confident not to mention. Very playful I really cannot recommend her highly enough”
Bella, Rescue Cross Breed
“Absolutely recommend Charlotte to anyone needing help, firstly she is a lovely lady and so knowledgeable about what she does. I emailed her about my rescue dog Bella pulling on the lead and over excitement around visitors and other dogs. On her first visit she recognised Bella was displaying very demanding behaviour to gain attention and put a plan in place for visitors. On her follow up visit, using this strategy, Bella was calmly sitting playing with her toys in no time. The difference was amazing. Charlotte also showed me a technique for Bella’s pulling on the lead which we are still working on but has already shown results, there is a video of Bella walking calmly and on a loose lead which I never thought possible. Charlotte gave me advice on every question I had which has been so invaluable and made a huge difference in our house. I have no hesitation recommending Charlotte to anyone and I look forward to seeing her again in January”
Tess, Border Collie
“We were having problems with our Collie Tess, who had started pulling on the lead and being very excitable during her walks and difficult to manage. We were lucky to find Charlotte who visited us at our home and assessed the situation whilst out walking Tess. Charlotte gave us good advice and tips on how to correct this behaviour, following up with a detailed report. She was on hand between visits to give guidance if needed. We would highly recommend Charlotte to help with any problem behaviour displayed by any dog.”
Bear, Whippet
“We reached out to Charlotte for her expertise as our 4 year old Whippet needed some support with his anxiety around other dogs. We are overjoyed with the results and cannot thank her enough for her techniques, exercises and self-confidence that she has given us to bring our dog back to his former confidence. The home visits and socialisation sessions worked fantastic and we are so happy to recommend Charlotte for all of her advice on his behaviour. Thank you especially from one happy little Whippet”.
Lewy, Australian Kelpie X Border Collie
“After struggling with ongoing reactivity issues with my dog I booked a session with Charlotte at “lead the way” in hope of some help. The session was fantastic, during which Charlotte taught me some key approaches and demonstrated ways to help ease the reactivity my dog had been showing towards other dogs. These were super beneficial and gave me a great deal of confidence moving forward. We were also able to work on leash pulling and even within the first session there was a noticeable difference. She was very insightful and provided me with a lot of information. After a couple of weeks of using these techniques I was able to see a massive change in our walks, gaining more and more confidence along the way. Even after the session it was a great comfort to know Charlotte was available to answer any further questions and give ongoing support and advice. Such a friendly person who is clearly passionate about what she does. Very pleased overall with my experience, extremely grateful.”
Dakota, Labrador
“Charlotte is amazing with dogs, she seems to just understand them. I have struggled with my 4 year old Labrador to the extent I couldn’t walk her due to health conditions and she just pulled all the time. I got where I only took her out in the car and let her run in a field. I spoke to Charlotte about all my issues and she was very professional in her responses. I took my Labrador for a training session, Charlotte went through training and really explained every part to. I then had a go and tried everything she did, worked great and for the first time in over a year I was walking my dog on a leas without her pulling. I had a few training sessions to fully get the hang of all the training and Charlotte was professional with how she dealt with my dog and how she spoke to me. I worked everyday on what I was taught and now I can walk my dog twice a day on the lead and actually enjoy our walks together and still enjoy a run in the field. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting help with their dogs wether it’s walking or needing help training them, she is amazing and my dog loves going for walks with Charlotte. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.”
Willow, German Shepherd
“We had two session for our 10 month old German shepherd to try stop her pulling on the lead as walking her was becoming very stressful, we can now walk willow and enjoy our walks with her as she walks by our side with no pulling on the figure of 8 lead and picked up on her training really well. We would definitely recommend lead the way with her training skills as she definitely has alot of knowledge and is confident in what she does thankyou so much.”
Willow, German Shepherd
“Our 18 month old Gsd & ourselves had issues when she pulled. I was dragged across a car park on my knees so she could greet another dog. I messaged Charlotte from lead the way about this and asked if she could fit us all in for some tuition. I had realised we needed to learn as much as Willow needed to
We had one session with Charlotte who taught us all new techniques & introduced us to a basic off the shelf lead that has changed everything for us all.
Willow can be more focused using this lead & no longer takes me for a walk. It was an hour well spent.
We learnt how to interact with Willow and get her attention at all times. Willow learnt that she listens to us and it benefits her to walk well on a lead as much as it does us. Such simple remedies once we all knew how.”
